De Menken Keuken Selects Infor M3 ERP Solution to Support Growth and Boost Future Goals

Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced that De Menken Keuken has selected Infor M3 ERP (enterprise resource planning) solution to support growth, increase efficiency and help provide business continuity. The agile, future-proof solution offers the Dutch family business enhanced quality management and tracing capabilities, better warehouse, production and distribution management combined with increased supply chain visibility.

De Menken Keuken produces a wide range of salads, sauces and meat products for retail, catering and hospitality customers. This is done mainly under private label. Its portfolio includes the Albert Heijn supermarket brand Saladespecialiteiten, carpaccio from de Vleeschmeesters, and a selection of tapenades and hummus spreads.

As its ERP solution was becoming obsolete, as it was going off support, the Dutch food producer began searching for a replacement and found an ideal match in Infor after reviewing software products from three vendors. Hilbert Klop, CFO at De Menken Keuken, elaborates: “The knowledge of Infor and Infor Alfa-Beta of our industry, along with our confidence in the functionalities and quality of its ERP solution, made Infor an obvious choice for De Menken Keuken. They understood our needs and goals, and the application is perfectly able to fulfill them.”

By standardizing with Infor M3, De Menken Keuken can migrate from its existing IBM AS/400 solution to a modern, innovative, and industry-specific system that can help them navigate challenges while helping control costs, reduce manual work and boost efficiency.

“We are pleased to offer De Menken Keuken a robust foundation to help them achieve their goals and ambition of becoming the leading supplier in the private label market where cost and innovation leadership are decisive factors,” says Kees van den Houten, Infor’s country manager for Benelux. “Infor M3 with its deep, food industry-specific functionality is designed for progress and will optimize their operations and help to boost revenue opportunities.”

Looking ahead, De Menken Keuken is also evaluating the purchase of Infor’s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution.

Altaïr Group to Deploy Infor M3 for International Growth

French chemical group to modernise IT infrastructure, centralize information and facilitate exchanges with subsidiaries to support continued global growth.

Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced that Altaïr Group, a French chemical group composed of six leading companies in the field of cleaning products, fabric softeners, insecticides and repair pastes and putties, has decided to deploy Infor M3. The enterprise resource planning (ERP) application, which is specifically dedicated for chemical industries, will become the standard system for managing processes and sharing information between the group’s various entities.

Founded in 1946 under the name Brunel Frères SARL, the family-owned company has continued to grow through a series of strategic acquisitions over the past 15 years. In 2019, Altaïr Group achieved a turnover of 100 million euros and today employs nearly 400 people in France, Spain, Belgium and Poland. The group has some 3,000 products associated with five leading brands (Starwax, Oro, Mistol, Sinto and Kapo), which it sells in more than 40 countries.

The group’s ambitions for growth are the origins of the Infor M3 deployment decision. “We could no longer evolve with our ERP under AS400 in a multi-company and increasingly international context,” said Sylvain Berdin, Altaïr Group ERP project manager. “We decided to focus on the most relevant way to reduce the time spent by our teams to develop specific functionalities for the existing system, as this methodology was no longer adapted to the needs of the Altaïr Group.”

Accompanied by the consulting firm Adix, Altaïr Group chose to trust Infor after surveying other vendors including SAP, IFS, Sage and Microsoft. “The reasons for our choice are very simple,” Berdin said. “Firstly, Infor was able to put us in contact with an impressive number of companies in our sector that are equipped with the solution, and that have all given us positive feedback, specifically addressing issues faced by the chemical industries and those associated with supply chain. Also, we liked Infor M3’s ability to manage and support international development ambitions, and its functionalities dedicated specifically to our industries. Overall, we were impressed by the functional richness, relevance and scalability, which allow us to envisage our ambitions for Industry 4.0.”

Altaïr Group has entrusted Infor to support the deployment of the M3 solution and outsourcing the IT servers and setting up a data centre in Lille, France, to serve the various entities of the group. This will help centralize information, improve communication between subsidiaries and share best practices. Infor M3 will help manage operations related to purchases/sales, production (manufacturing of chemical formulas and packaging), logistics, quality control and finance.

“Infor has once again proven its ability to respond to industry-specific issues, with a dedicated solution that scales to the size of the company and its international ambitions,” said Laurent Jacquemain, Infor SVP & GM southern Europe. “Infor M3 was chosen for its industry-specific qualities, its functional richness, its constant and relevant developments, and for the quality of our daily support. Furthermore, our industry and product experts are actively involved throughout the project to address specific questions raised by each user.”

About Group Altaïr

Based in Wasquehal near Lille, France, Altaïr Group is a major player in the manufacturing and distribution of home care, cleaning products and insecticides in Europe. Altaïr achieves 56% of its turnover abroad. The group’s offer, which counts more than 3,500 SKUs for a turnover exceeding 110 million euros, is built around five brands leader in their segments:

  • Starwax: household care
  • Kapo: insecticides
  • Sinto: wood care
  • Oro: insecticides, cleaning and household care
  • Mistol: leading brand in the Spanish dishwashing liquids market

Altaïr products are primarily sold in DIY chains but also in independent stores, professional channels (materials wholesalers and professional hardware stores), garden centers and LISAs (agricultural products self-service stores) as well as online.

The group has three production sites: Noyelles-lès-Seclin near Lille and Aubagne in France, and Valencia in Spain.

Burton Snowboards Selects Infor to Support its Digital Transformation and Global Expansion

World’s leading snowboard company to modernize ERP, inventory and supply chain with Infor.

NEW YORK – January 13, 2020 – Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced that Burton Snowboards has selected Infor CloudSuite Fashion, an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system tailor-made for the fashion industry. Burton also has expanded its Infor Nexus supply chain management capabilities to optimize inventory across channels, increase its direct-to-consumer business, operationalize its expansion to global markets, and upgrade its technology footprint to the cloud.

Burton is the world’s leading snowboard company, founded by the late Jake Burton Carpenter in 1977. Burton has been a long-time customer of Infor, leveraging Infor Nexus solutions to connect to its suppliers, logistics providers and brokers to streamline global trade processes and provide better visibility to supply and payments.

“At Burton, we are consumer-centric and steadfast about leveraging the best tools to safeguard our production, product management and operations,” said Josee Larocque, Burton senior vice president of operations. “We are excited to partner with Infor and upgrade our enterprise resource planning footprint to its best-in-class cloud software solution.”

Burton is constantly challenged to manage inventory with seasonal demand and orchestrate products across a global supply chain. An end-to-end networked ERP solution redefines Burton’s core capabilities and provides connectivity to suppliers, 3PLs (third-party logistics providers), carriers and other parties for greater inventory visibility and agility. Infor will enable Burton to standardize enterprise processes and optimize inventory flow from source to customer across all channels, including direct-to-consumer and e-commerce, while reducing its legacy technology footprint.

“Given the uncertain nature of the fashion industry, we believe that visibility, collaboration and predictive intelligence are key to success,” said James Hannay, Infor senior vice president and general manager of major accounts. “Our fashion industry-specific ERP and Infor Nexus solutions will help Burton drive competitive differentiation in the market. We are pleased to expand our partnership with Burton and become its end-to-end technology partner. We are confident our solutions will help the organization transform its core operations. We are excited to partner and demonstrate how Infor can provide solutions to these common industry challenges.”

Infor Introduces New Solutions for Omni-Channel Retailers and Fashion Brands

NEW YORK – January 13, 2020 – Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced a number of solutions designed to help omni-channel retailers and fashion brands optimize their inventories, improve demand and supply planning, boost factory efficiency and help take their fashion products to market faster.

The new, machine learning (ML)-driven solutions are generally available (GA) and include Infor Retail Allocation, Infor Omni-Channel Planning for Brands, the latest version of Infor CloudSuite PLM for Fashion, and the Infor Nexus RFID Scan & Pack solution.

Jordan K. Speer, research manager, global supply chain, at IDC, said, “Retailers that cannot minimize costs by optimizing for product planning, creation and movement through the end-to-end supply chain will not be able to compete. Optimization requires the ability to design, sample and produce as close to market as possible and to move inventory as quickly and efficiently as possible for both store and e-commerce operations.

“This requires, first, one view of inventory and, second, the ability to fulfill orders from whatever location is optimal, taking into account a wide array of constantly changing factors in real time,” she noted. “Without unified software systems and analytics that provide visibility into one version of data, insight into that data and the ability to make smart decisions based on it, retailers will not be able to thrive in today’s market.”

Rod Johnson, Infor general manager and head of Americas, said, “Infor’s ongoing investments in machine learning and advanced planning will give retailers and fashion and lifestyle brands very powerful new capabilities. First, they will have an incredibly precise view of their component and finished goods demand and, second, they will have an execution platform that supports even shorter product lifecycles. This combination will reduce waste, labor and markdowns throughout their supply chains, from zippers to finished goods.”

Infor Retail Allocation

Infor Retail Allocation leverages Infor Machine Learning to address the challenge of where to position inventory to maximize “full-price” sell-through and minimize markdowns and waste.

The solution supports multi-modal fulfillment for all demand types and nodes, including vendors, distribution centers (DCs) and stores. It enables retailers to create a time-phased allocation plan, from launch to clearance, to optimize the lifecycle margin for each product.

Infor Retail Allocation is one of the industry’s first allocation solutions to be powered by machine learning and one of the first enabling retailers to replenish distribution centers and allocate to stores in one process. It also is unique in its ability to reduce the labor required in allocation.

Infor Omni-Channel Planning for Brands

Infor Omni-Channel Planning for Brands applies machine learning to demand and supply planning to help fashion brands manage their direct-to-consumer channels, alongside their existing wholesale businesses in a solution designed for both types of demand.

With Infor Omni-Channel Planning, fashion and lifestyle brands no longer have to choose two disparate tools or force one channel to use a tool that is more fit for another channel. The solution supports demand planning, unique to wholesale accounts vs. retail channels; supply planning that consolidates demand; allocation by channel, account and store; bill-of-materials-driven component planning and minimal-order-quantities (MOQ) management. It also is integrated with the Infor Nexus supply chain network to enable collaboration with component suppliers, factories and downstream wholesale accounts.

Infor Omni-Channel Planning is one of the first omni-channel demand and supply planning solutions to leverage machine learning. It enables retailers to create plans that address both wholesale and retail channels seamlessly, and it helps them reduce waste, markdowns and the labor associated with planning.

Infor CloudSuite PLM for Fashion

Infor CloudSuite PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) for Fashion (version 16) helps fashion designers take their products and collections to market faster and in a more structured, controlled way. The solution provides a trusted, single source of data, so fashion brands can efficiently reuse data from collection to collection.

The solution’s modern user interface, with drag-and-drop features, helps users more easily manage the information they need. And Infor CloudSuite PLM for Fashion offers tight collaboration with partners. It allows them restricted access to the system to view information such as technology packs and feedback on samples, thus reducing unstructured email communications.

Because Infor CloudSuite PLM for Fashion is integrated with Infor CloudSuite Fashion (M3) on the same Infor OS (Operating Service) platform, data can be shared across the platform seamlessly. Workflow tasks are defined for end-to-end processes, regardless of where data comes from. Documents created in Infor CloudSuite PLM are stored in the Document Management application within Infor OS. As such, data is aligned, integrated and updated when new versions are released.

Infor Nexus RFID Scan & Pack solution

The Infor Nexus Scan & Pack solution enables retailers and fashion brands to leverage RFID tags in the factory packing process to validate packing accuracy and improve factory compliance and efficiency. EPC (electronic product code) data is captured and verified, duplicate and dead tags detected, and an item-level proof of delivery generated, without the need to physically handle each garment.

The solution is embedded into Infor Nexus’ Factory Management product suite, which enables communication and enforcement of carton packing and labelling requirements, and automatic generation of compliant carton labels and ASNs (advanced shipping notices). RFID scanning helps brands enforce a true item-level scan at the factory while also streamlining factory packing operations. EPC data can be used along with the Infor Nexus Supply Chain Traceability product to drive brand-protection initiatives.

Kyowa Chemical Industry Adopts Infor Cloud Solution for Global Business Visibility and Overseas Expansion

TOKYO, Japan – Aug 7, 2019 – Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced that Kyowa Chemical Industry, a manufacturer and seller of chemical products for industry and healthcare, has implemented Infor M3 Cloud, Infor’s ERP software for large global manufacturers, distributors, and after-sales service providers, to enhance business data visibility and business efficiency in its global operations as it gears up for international expansion.

Kyowa Chemical Industry develops safe and secure products that are both people- and eco-friendly. It manufactures and sells industrial products, pharmaceuticals and food additives using the magnesium in seawater as the main raw material, and possesses the largest share in the domestic market for inorganic industrial chemicals and active pharmaceutical ingredients. In recent years, it has sold an increasing percentage of products overseas, mainly for industrial use, and with five production/sales sites overseas, including in the Netherlands and China, it is also focusing on international expansion.

To further grow its business in Japan and overseas, Kyowa Chemical Industry is working to achieve business data visibility and business efficiency improvements. Close information sharing with overseas sites, in particular, is necessary for it to achieve a stable supply of products while expanding its business globally. It was unable to reform its business practices with the previous office computer-based system it has used for sales, purchasing and inventory management.

As its office computer systems aged, Kyowa Chemical Industry decided to adopt Infor M3 Cloud because it packages together all the functionalities required for global sales, purchasing and inventory management, and enables centralized data management with a single system. Another factor for the decision was that Infor has extensive experience in production management for domestic and international process manufacturing industries, and Kyowa Chemical Industry is considering adopting a production management package in the future.

Using Infor M3 Cloud, Kyowa Chemical Industry built a new business platform for managing its sales, purchasing and inventory, which it launched across its domestic sales offices in April 2019. The platform is being rolled out in the company’s overseas sales offices to enable centralized management of global sales, purchasing and inventory information, which will accelerate information sharing and business decision-making with overseas sites. Promoting standardization of skills-dependent business processes, Infor M3 is also expected to become the cornerstone of future company-wide initiatives to improve business efficiency.

In addition to sales, purchasing and inventory management, Kyowa Chemical Industry is considering using Infor M3 as the core factor of the system to realize optimal coordination of supply and demand on a global scale.

“At Kyowa Chemical Industry, we have continually worked on enhancing our sales and production sites in Japan and overseas to directly provide our customers around the world with unique products. We adopted Infor’s ERP cloud solution to enable connection with branches overseas, which are growing in importance, and to drive business efficiencies,” said Mitsunori Kado, director and head of human resources at Kyowa Chemical Industry. “Going forward, we hope to draw from the extensive process manufacturing knowledge of Infor to continue enhancing our business platforms and expand our range of high-safety, eco-friendly products globally.”

LC Waikiki Leads the Fashion Pack with Infor

Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialised by industry, today announced that global fashion retailer LC Waikiki has selected Infor CloudSuite PLM for Fashion, built on Infor OS and deployed via software-as-a-service (SaaS), to help enhance visibility, boost forecasting, and support rapid growth.

LC Waikiki selected Infor due to the need for agility to react and respond to market trends more effectively. The decision was based on the application’s rich user experience, its ability to scale, dedicated capabilities for private brand fashion retailers, as well as the professionalism and knowledge of the team.

Because the application is deployed via Infor’s SaaS, LC Waikiki can focus on growing its business and helping users drive greater speed and business value from the solution, rather than spending time supporting and maintaining it.

“The $1.3 trillion fashion industry is enormously competitive and going through significant change. To support growth and efficiency, it is crucial for fashion brands to have systems that enable them to react to the latest catwalk trends and quickly translate them into new collections and styles and to online clicks and store sales,” comments Jason Berry, VP Retail & Fashion, EMEA, Infor. “LC Waikiki is capitalising on Infor’s CloudSuite PLM for Fashion capabilities to enhance visibility, collaboration and drive rapid growth — to steal a march on its competitors.”

“Having a dedicated end-to-end platform designed to support the specific dynamics of fashion product lifecycle management is crucial to win market share in a highly competitive industry,” comments Serafettin Ozer, chief digital officer, LC Waikiki. “LC Waikiki is the market leader in 15 of the 46 countries where it operates. The extensive capabilities and intuitive interface of Infor CloudSuite PLM for Fashion mean that we can continue our growth journey with the very best tools and absolute confidence in our performance. Product lifecycle management is a critical process for our business, and therefore our project with Infor is highly strategic.”

About LC Waikiki

LC Waikiki’s journey started in France in 1988, continuing after 1997 as a Turkish brand under the umbrella of LC Waikiki Mağazacılık Hizmetleri Ticaret A.Ş.

As being one of the leading brands of the ready-to-wear industry, LC Waikiki operates with more than 958 stores located in 46 countries, including Turkey and 43,200 employees. The company’s philosophy is “Everyone deserves to dress well” enabling people to enjoy accessible fashion through quality products at affordable prices.

LC Waikiki, with its overseas investments that started in Romania in 2009, aims to be “one of Europe’s three most successful apparel retailers by 2023”.

Horseware Ireland Champions New Technology Footprint with Infor

Infor, a global leader in business cloud software specialized by industry, today announced that leading producer of equestrian and pet products, Horseware Ireland, has successfully completed a global deployment of Infor M3. The enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform will help ensure the right tools and capabilities are in the hands of Horseware Ireland’s employees, allowing them to deliver an enhanced partner and customer experience. In parallel, greater efficiency and visibility facilitated by the platform — which is live across Ireland, US, Cambodia and currently implementing for China — are expected to open opportunities to pursue product innovation in line with the specialist manufacturer’s ethos.

With a diverse product mix, which includes accessories for horses and dogs, clothing and accessories for ladies, men and children, and a therapies range designed for horses, Horseware Ireland required a system that is flexible and can scale to incorporate new products as market opportunities dictate. The company’s previous systems had become heavily modified, were disparate across locations and required a great deal of manual intervention, which impeded productivity and agility.

Horseware Ireland selected Infor based on its ability to scale, a close fit for the apparel industry and modern interfaces. Because the company was already using a previous Infor product, training and data migration demands were even easier to manage, allowing the team to hit the ground running, faster.

“Since its inception in 1985, Horseware Ireland has continuously innovated and invested in the latest technology to support its growth and become the successful equine brand it is today,” comments Alan O’Neill, IT Manager, Horseware Ireland. “Delivering quality products in combination with an exceptional partner experience are intrinsic to our vision. Supported by partners, MRC UKBEC S.I.MillersoftGlantusVince and Cashbooks, Infor’s platform personalises the user experience, allowing us to automate more processes for greater productivity, exercise better control over the allocation of goods to partners and customers, and ultimately enhance partner and customer engagement.”

“Fashion businesses live or die by the brand experience they deliver, particularly those in niche sectors,” comments Simon Niesler, SVP and general manager, Infor Western Europe. “In an ever-demanding, ever-fickle world, customer-centric strategies must be underpinned by integrated, industry-specific technology to manage product mixes, ensure productivity and meet customer expectations to secure all-important competitive advantage.”
