Lancel Bags a Cloud Upgrade with Info

RUEIL-MALMAISON, France – May 26, 2021  Infor, the industry cloud company, today announced that the famous French luxury leather goods manufacturer Lancel has chosen to implement Infor CloudSuite Fashion, an ERP solution dedicated specifically to the fashion, textile and luxury industries, as part of a project to migrate and streamline its IT systems.

Learn more about Infor CloudSuite Fashion: https://www.infor.com/industries/fashion

The Lancel family business was founded in Paris in 1876. Specializing in the manufacture and sale of accessories related to the use of tobacco, which was becoming increasingly popular among women, the company naturally made its first leather goods, namely bags, to store these accessories. For nearly a century, Lancel continually innovated and filed numerous patents that allowed the brand to become a part of the French luxury goods industry and then, in the 1980s, an international brand. Integrated into the prestigious Swiss group Richemont in 1997, it was finally acquired in 2018 by the Italian group Piquadro.

As part of this latest acquisition, the challenge of migrating Lancel’s IT infrastructure out of the Richemont network prompted the new CIO to completely rethink the existing model, which was heterogeneous and had changed little since 2011. “I joined Lancel at the end of 2019 with the mission, in 24 months, to migrate the legacy systems — three ERPs: Infor M3, Cegid Y2 and SAP — out of the Richemont Group’s infrastructure and networks,” says Michael Joncour, CIO at Lancel. “This was an organic, precise and perilous mission, especially in the middle of the COVID-19 period, which had a strong impact on the project.”

The urgency of the situation led the CIO to capitalize on one of the existing solutions. An in-depth study of the Infor M3 ERP solution found that, although it had been installed in 2011, it was very functionally rich and it met the manufacturer’s business requirements. The plan was to upgrade this robust system dedicated to the fashion and luxury goods industry, and it was only natural that Lancel chose the latest multi-tenant cloud SaaS option in order to migrate and upgrade Infor M3 to Infor CloudSuite Fashion as quickly as possible, without creating any disruption in current processes.

“The functional fit of the solution and its numerous standards dedicated to our industry; the prestigious customer references — in particular Zadig&Voltaire; the lack of time and the team available and the support provided by Infor’s partner, CGI, which mastered the solution and the Lancel environment, all weighed heavily in the balance when choosing Infor,” Joncour confirmed. “We decided to streamline the environment using the latest version of Infor CloudSuite Fashion, which runs in the AWS cloud, and added the Infor Birst BI tool for analytics and kept our Cegid Y2 tool interfaced with the Infor solution.”

Today, the project is on track with the schedule as envisioned before the pandemic began. “The project started in March 2021 and the objective is to have migrated all of Lancel’s infrastructure and data by December 31, 2021,” said Olivier Scheidegger, director of consulting services at CGI, who is working with Lancel and the Infor teams on the project. “The choice of the cloud in this context is particularly astute in that it offers agility and a speed of deployment that is unmatched by traditional installations.”

For Infor, the project validates the vertical industry approach and investments made in the cloud with AWS. “The popularity of our Infor CloudSuite Fashion solution with prestigious fashion brands in France and internationally is now more than ever a reality,” said Philippe Maillet, Infor SMB & channel sales director in France. “With this project, carried out jointly with Lancel and our partner CGI, we are once again demonstrating our ability to rapidly transform a heterogeneous legacy environment into a homogeneous infrastructure for digital that centralizes both application solutions and data. In less than one year, despite the pandemic, Lancel will be able to benefit from a dedicated, centralized and secure business solution. In addition, it will be able to continually benefit from the regular updates to its CloudSuite Fashion solution thanks to its open architecture and interface it with other applications, in particular with a PLM solution, as it plans to do.”

About Lancel
Lancel, a French leather goods company, was founded in 1876. A family-owned group, it has taken care, since its origins, to give Parisian life a mischievous and innovative air at the same time, the timeless seal of what appears to the world as the “French touch.” Integrated into the prestigious Swiss group Richemont in 1997, it was bought in 2018 by the Italian group Piquadro. Today, Lancel continues to embrace its era by following a long tradition whose common thread, as feminine as it is Parisian, can only be translated as “French Légèreté.” For more information: www.lancel.com/fr_en/

Z Nautic Group Floats to the Cloud with Infor

RUEIL-MALMAISON, France – May 11, 2021 – Infor, the industry cloud company, today announced that Z Nautic Group — formerly known as Zodiac and whose boat brand has become synonymous with inflatable boats around the world — is deploying Infor CloudSuite Equipment, a multi-tenant cloud ERP system specifically designed for equipment manufacturers, dealers and rental companies. The project follows the group’s demerger and the relocation of its French production unit to Tunisia, events that caused it to lose control of its IT tool in terms of distribution, equipment management and tracking of boats by serial number.

Founded 125 years ago, Z Nautic has undergone several changes in recent years that have reshaped the company and its organisation. Today, with 600 employees, the group has 1,600 dealer partners (and a few distributors) throughout the world and is exclusively dedicated to the production and distribution of boats in the leisure and professional markets.

Z Nautic was already equipped with an older version of Infor M3, which it had not upgraded due to internal events and changes. In 2019, the company decided to transform its IT solution and entrusted Ernst & Young with an audit and market consultation. Following a call for tenders involving various vendors, Z Nautic chose Infor and its partner Hetic 3 at the end of 2020, opting for a cloud migration process rather than replacing its solution.

Anthony Chapeltegui, Z Nautic’s IT manager, says: “There were three main reasons for this choice. The first was Infor’s ability to offer us standard business functionalities that were perfectly adapted to our equipment sales (including rental), spare parts management, procurement and stock management issues. The second is our desire to switch to a SaaS mode configuration for security, scalability, simplicity and reliability. The last is the integration of embedded analytical modules to be able, in the long term, to give our users control over the production of tables and reports, particularly by geographical area and by product.”

Christophe Pino, Hetic 3’s sales manager, comments: “The relationship of trust we have had with Z Nautic for many years, as well as the cloud option offered by Infor, were key factors in their decision to migrate. This option offered real advantages in flexibility and scalability on demand, while respecting the customer’s needs and financial capacities.”

The solution, deployed in a multi-tenant cloud environment, will allow Z Nautic to eliminate time-consuming maintenance and upgrade processes for its IT team.

Today, while the pandemic crisis has accelerated the development of the equipment manufacturer’s activities and filled its order book, 130 users will be working with the new Infor CloudSuite Equipment solution by the end of 2021. For the time being, all the functions that will use the new system (finance, production, sales, marketing, quality, product management, purchasing and supply) have participated in a series of remote training workshops organised by Hetic 3 and have validated the choice of the tool.

Chapeltegui concludes: “We were impressed by the user-friendly interface offered by Infor. It has won over our teams, taking them from the stone age to the digital age, with customised settings and displays to meet individual needs. Combined with strong process automation and workflow capabilities, we expect rapid performance gains once the solution is deployed and ultimately benefit from better knowledge of our dealers through improved data centralisation, as well as our time and budget.”

The deployment of a customer and partner configurator is also expected to eventually offer greater fluidity and efficiency in terms of customisation and choice of options, but also management of associated parts, when building a boat.

With its unrivalled experience, Zodiac Nautic, the originator of major innovations in the field of inflatable boats, is today at the forefront of products and services in total harmony with the times. Norgesmøllene AS, Part of Cernova Group, Moves to the Cloud with Elvenite and Infor

OSLO, Norway – May 10, 2021 – Infor, the industry cloud company, today announced that Norgesmøllene AS, part of Cernova, the Norway-based flour milling and industrial group, has deployed Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage to support its digital transformation process and Industry 4.0 initiaitives to streamline processes and boost visibility. Managed and implemented by Infor alliance partner Elvenite, Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage is based on Infor’s multi-tenant AWS cloud platform.

The nature of the millling and industrial bakery sector means that Norgesmøllene AS faces a number of challenges in serving its core markets. The company therefore required new modern cloud-based ERP (enterprise resource planning) capabilities to take advantage of the latest functionality and to underpin future growth.

Having used Infor M3 (formerly Movex) since the late 1990s, Norgesmøllene AS had complete confidence in working with Elvenite to deploy the Infor CloudSuite, which encompasses the Infor M3 ERP system, Infor Rhythm for Commerce and Infor Factory Track Warehouse Mobility.

Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, which also incorporates Eye Share to manage the workflow of inbound supplier invoices, is expected to streamline processes and boost visibility for Norgesmøllene AS. As well as integrating documents better using Infor OS operating service and Infor Document Management, the intuitive user interface supports the company’s vision for modernisation.

“I’ve been involved in implementing and using ERP systems for several decades and can honestly say that, thanks to Elvenite, this is the smoothest project I have experienced since we introduced Infor M3 11 years ago,” comments Rolf Palmesen, Cernova IT manager. “Making the transition to the cloud has transformed our business and provided us with a robust, scalable platform from which to pursue our continuous improvement strategy and Industry 4.0 initiatives. Cloud is undoubtedly the future, and while staying on the latest version wasn’t the driver for this project, access to new functionality and technology updates was most definitely a bonus.”

“We’re delighted to move another of our food industry customers to a multi-tenant cloud environment, and provide them with a best-in-class platform from which to develop and grow their business,” comments Mathias Dyberg, CEO at Elvenite. “Our alliance partnership with Infor means that we can apply our food industry expertise with world-class cloud solutions to help our customers drive digital transformation in a way that facilitates robust foundations for their future journeys.”

“Working closely with our specialist alliance partner for the food industry, Elvenite, we’ve brought together our combined business know-how and in-depth technical knowledge to create long-term value for Cernova,” comments Malte Ekedahl, Infor VP sales in Northern Europe. “Our converged expertise has resulted in a smooth and successful deployment for Cernova, and we look forward to working with them going forward to support their goals.”

About Elvenite
Elvenite was founded in 2007 and is driven by the vision to be a leader in the digitization of the food industry and the grocery trade. The company has 75 employees and sales of over SEK 100 million. Zahid Tractor Turns to Infor for Digital Transformation

JEDDAH, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia — 8 March 2021 — Infor today announced Zahid Tractor, a Saudi Arabia-based Zahid Group company that supplies construction machinery and commercial vehicles, is now using Infor enterprise resource planning (ERP) to streamline and gain visibility across all departments. The integration of Infor M3 for Equipment allows Zahid Tractor to continue to distinguish its customer-centric offering and commitment to excellence across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s construction, transportation and rental sectors.

Zahid Tractor is the authorized distributor of Caterpillar in its Construction Machinery Division, a partnership that has been in place for 71 years. Under its Commercial Vehicles Division, Zahid Tractor is the authorized distributor of Volvo Trucks Group (Volvo Trucks, Renault Trucks and UD Trucks); a partnership that has been in place for 41 years.

Zahid Tractor originally depended on a bespoke homegrown enterprise information technology solution. As the company continued to grow, this solution was no longer feasible and could not support Zahid Tractor’s aggressive digital transformation drive. With the ambition of streamlining all facets of the business as part of its “Ethos of Excellence” and deploying state-of-the-art technologies (such as business intelligence, artificial intelligence and machine learning), Zahid Tractor commissioned one of the big four consulting firms to oversee the due diligence process in selecting the ideal ERP solution.

Upon completion of the due diligence process, Infor M3 for Equipment (manufacturing, distribution, equipment dealership and rental ERP solutions) was selected as the ideal solution in achieving Zahid Tractor’s ambitious digitalization aspirations.

Infor M3 met all the requirements stemming from interface-driven initiatives Zahid Tractor has with its original equipment manufacturer (OEM) partners, which help increase supply chain visibility and improve service levels for their customers. This was a key prerequisite of the ERP solution, given the scale and importance of Zahid Tractor’s partners including Caterpillar and Volvo Trucks Group.

From equipment lifecycle, employee productivity and rental service to maintenance, field service, refurbishment and OEM, to name but a few, Infor M3 is transforming key areas of Zahid Tractor’s operations. The end-to-end solution with business analytics provides directors, management and front-line teams with valuable data that assists in planning, day-to-day operations, control and decision-making.

The Infor M3 solution will prove instrumental in helping Zahid Tractor tap high levels of growth in Saudi Arabia’s construction equipment market, which is expected to achieve an estimated compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.79 percent from 2020 to 2025, according to a survey by Reportlinker.com. Indeed, Saudi Arabia is moving ahead with megaprojects including NEOM super-city ‘The LINE’ (a revolution in urban living), the 334-square-kilometer entertainment city of Qiddiya, in addition to large-scale residential construction projects in major cities, in line with its Vision 2030 transformation agenda.

Barig Siraj, Zahid Group vice president of group affairs commented: “Saudi Arabia is home to some of the world’s most exciting development projects, and as a leading supplier of construction machinery and commercial vehicles, the Zahid Group of companies is committed to supporting these important initiatives. By deploying solutions such as Infor M3, Zahid Group is increasing its ability to respond quickly and efficiently to customer demand while also improving our overall agility and business success.”

“We’re thrilled to be working with Zahid Tractor on their digital transformation,” said Amel Gardner, Infor vice president for the Middle East and Africa (MEA). “Infor M3 plays a key role in helping organizations gain visibility across their operations, improving productivity and efficiency, and helping management teams have greater confidence in their decision making — all essential qualities for success in high-growth and capital-intense industries such as construction equipment.”

Currently, Zahid Group is working with Infor to roll out Infor Birst Analytics and Infor M3 CloudSuite to other companies within the group.

Levoni Group Chooses Infor for Digital Transformation

VIMERCATE, Italy – 24 February 2021 – Infor today announced that Gruppo Levoni, a historic Italian company specializing in cured meats production, has chosen to implement Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, an enterprise software solution designed specifically for the food sector. The Infor solution based on Infor M3 enterprise resource planning and Infor OS operating system will help create a digital transformation path for Levoni. The project will be entirely managed by Infor Gold partner Atlantic Technologies.

Learn more about Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage: https://www.infor.com/en-gb/products/cloudsuite-food-and-beverage

Founded in 1911, Levoni is synonymous with high-quality cured meats. Quality comes from selected Italian raw materials and craftsmanship that is perfectly integrated with the guarantees and safety standards of industrial systems. Levoni distributes its 100% Italian products to more than 10,000 delicatessens in Italy and to 50 countries around the world. With 700 employees, Levoni is a group now in its fourth generation that has made excellence a distinctive character.

The strong evolution and competitiveness of the market and the need to satisfy consumers who are increasingly attentive to quality, transparency and sustainability, accentuated even more by the pandemic, have led Levoni to digitize production processes, responding to the new habits of buyers and new consumer trends, while ensuring a high level of efficiency.

Following a careful evaluation of the solutions available on the market, Levoni found Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage the ideal platform to manage the complex processes of the food industry and respond to the needs of the group. Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage is based on Infor M3, an international ERP system with industry-specific capabilities and predefined best practices to achieve results faster. The solution allows users to more accurately plan for demand and respond faster to changing demand throughout a global supply chain and in the factory. It provides operational excellence functions designed for the food and beverage industry, supporting the ever-increasing transparency, traceability, food safety and waste reduction requirements. Thanks to the solution, Levoni will be able to manage both the slaughterhouse and the cured meat production, which are very different processes, with a single tool that provides full traceability from farm to fork.

According to Levoni, the Infor Implementation Accelerator for Food & Beverage makes the solution unique by offering predefined and preconfigured processes based on high-value international experiences in the food and beverage industry. Infor Implementation Accelerator will allow Levoni to create new processes and modify existing ones, starting from worldwide proven industry best practices, providing the agility to respond immediately to the increasingly frequent changes in the market.

The implementation will allow Levoni to embrace the logic of an integrated ecosystem connected with employees, suppliers and collaborators, capable of managing the various aspects of demand from an increasingly aware and demanding consumer. Thanks to the technology roadmap drawn by Atlantic Technologies, Levoni has laid out the foundations for effective process management and systems integration aimed at creating synergy between the different areas and insights of value for its business. The solution will be used by about 230 users, distributed between the Italian and American offices, and will allow the company to rely on a single system to manage all the group’s activities and provide a holistic view of the business.

The implementation of the new ERP solution represents the first step in the transformation of the group’s application landscape. In the future, the analysis of the various integrations with the production lines of the group sites and the specific issues of the new product development process are planned, as well as the choice of an enterprise asset management solution that meets the business needs.

“We believe the Infor M3 solution with the Implementation Accelerator for Food & Beverage will allow us to achieve our project goals. The choice of an enterprise solution will allow us to manage all the companies of the group with the same tool, and with the Implementation Accelerator, we will approach the analysis phase of the project starting from the best practices relating to the processes of our sector, and not from the typical ‘blank sheet,’ with the specific aim of maintaining the solution as standard as possible,” stated Roberto Pigni, Levoni Group’s information systems director.

“The Infor OS platform seemed to us a very powerful tool that will allow us to manage both the interfaces with other business applications and the automation of business processes. We also greatly appreciate the expandability of the Infor M3 application ecosystem, which contains product lifecycle management (PLM) capabilities dedicated to the food sector and a solution for enterprise asset management,” concludes Pigni.

“Supporting a prestigious company such as Levoni, which represents ‘Made in Italy’ internationally, is a source of great pride for us,” said Bruno Pagani, Infor sales director for Italy. “The food and beverage sector must adapt more and more to rapid changes in demand, and to respond to new customer requests, flexibility, agility, high safety and compliance with regulations are required. I am sure that our specific technology for the meat processing sector together with the great expertise of Atlantic Technologies will accelerate the innovation process of the Levoni Group, supporting its growth.”

“We are very proud to collaborate with Levoni and lead its innovation process,” declared Angela Colucci, Atlantic Technologies VP strategy & business development. “Atlantic has a consolidated experience with companies in the food sector all over the world, helping them to keep up with the evolution of demand and to satisfy the demands of a consumer increasingly attentive to the authenticity of the product. Thanks to the innovative technology of Infor and the specialized consultancy of Atlantic Technologies, Levoni will be able to manage the complex challenges of the sector and ensure profitability and resilience.”

Infor Wins Deal to Replace Legacy ERP for Elektroskandia Norway

Leading electrical distribution company selects industry-specific Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise to gain full control.

Infor today announced that Elektroskandia is embarking on a digitalisation journey and will streamline its operations with the help of Infor. It will replace its existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) system with a modern, flexible and mobile business system, Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, to support the company’s future goals.

Learn more about Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise: https://www.infor.com/en-gb/products/cloudsuite-distribution-enterprise

Elektroskandia Norway is one of Norway’s largest wholesalers in the trade electrical distribution market with 11 locations and 300 employees. Its annual turnover is 2.4 billion NOK. E-commerce and tailored solutions are some of the reasons why electricians, power plants, and industry and offshore companies partner with Elektroskandia Norge AS.

To gain even better control over business-critical processes throughout the value chain and to ensure full process visibility, Elektroskandia needed to replace its old platform with an integrated, multi-tenant cloud-based ERP solution.

There was a competitive bid process initially with 14 other ERP suppliers before Elektroskandia chose Infor and its alliance partner Columbus. The agreement, which is worth several million kroner, involves Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise being delivered by Columbus. According to the plan, the solution will be in full operation during 2022 throughout Norway.

Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise was chosen, in part, for its lower total operating cost, lower implementation costs, and because the solution covers the needs of Elektroskandia.

“With Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, we can continue to provide our well-known customer service. At the same time, it will be possible to add new services that make us a more attractive supplier and partner,” says Elektroskandia’s IT and digitalisation director Arne Reidar Holtvedt. “Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise also supports Elektroskandia’s growth targets in the coming years. With the new solution, our employees get full insight into the flow of goods in real time, also on mobile devices.”

“For an electrical distributor, it is important to support complex discount and price structures. All this in combination with a good user experience will be significantly better for both employees and customers. Therefore, we needed a system that met our needs out of the box. With Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, which is a multi-tenant cloud solution, we also get a system that is always updated with new services and solutions adapted to our future needs and new requirements from customers.”

“Through a thorough testing of Infor CloudSuite Distribution Enterprise, Elektroskandia soon became confident that the solution covered the current and future needs for its electrical wholesaler business,” says Per Christian Øen, director of Infor M3 at Columbus Norway.

Erlend Skaar-Olsen, Infor country manager for Norway, added: “We look forward to working with Elektroskandia to support its internal and external processes across the entire value chain and to further increase the overall efficiency of the company as it provides just-in-time delivery services to customers across a wide range of industries.”

About Elektroskandia Norge AS

E-commerce and tailored solutions are some of the reasons why electricians, power plants and industry and offshore companies partner with Elektroskandia Norge AS. Elektroskandia Norge is one of Norway’s largest wholesalers in the trade electrical distribution market with 11 locations and 300 employees. Its annual turnover is 2.4 billion NOK. Elektroskandia Norge is owned by the French company Rexel, the world’s largest distributor of electrical products and services, with companies in 35 countries. Infor Supports Global Growth of EJ with Infor M3 Cloud

Solution installed at group’s French and American sites enables the global underground infrastructure specialist to standardize its business processes.

Infor today announced that EJ, a world leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of access solutions for water, sewerage, drainage, telecommunications and services networks, has chosen to implement Infor M3 in the cloud as part of an ambitious project to overhaul its global IT infrastructure.

Learn more about Infor M3: https://www.infor.com/en-gb/products/m3

The company, which employs more than 2,500 people worldwide and has production sites in Europe, the United States and Australia, has made a series of acquisitions over the past several decades. It has also built new, state-of-the-art plants over the past three years. Its growth is now accompanied by Infor M3 in a private cloud, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, which provides the manufacturer with a wealth of functionality dedicated to the industrial manufacturing sector without the need for complex, costly and time-consuming custom software development.

The Infor solution replaced existing legacy systems that were no longer suited to the production processes of modern companies seeking agility and optimization of their production costs. Infor M3, which has been widely acclaimed at the global level by the group’s French entity, has won over the market for its ability to meet the business requirements of industrial manufacturers in standard mode.

“Given that the US operations of EJ did not have an ERP system that met future business requirements and that we had experience with Movex for which we had licenses, the choice was fairly quick,” said Gérard Doucet, director of information systems for EJ in EMEA referring to Infor M3’s previous product name, Movex. “For reasons of cost and — in particular with regard to other major suppliers on the market which we also assessed — because of the reduced complexity and thanks to the functional richness of the standard solution, we opted for Infor M3 in a private cloud deployment. This allows us to work with complete freedom without depending on the time and process constraints in the US, with 24/7 availability.”

As Infor’s partner on the project in Europe, the Elcimaï group continues to support EJ with the implementation. “This is a particularly engaging project for our teams: in the cloud, over an extended European geographical area, with the specific zero constraint imposed by the customer. Its implementation enables us to demonstrate our ability to support a significant industrial and digital transformation project,” said Bruno Kientzel, CEO of Elcimaï Business Solutions.

“Organizations’ complex industrial processes need to be supported by software solutions that are the opposite of this complexity,” said Laurent Jacquemain, Infor’s senior vice president & general manager for southern Europe. “A company like EJ has operations all over the world that respond to different rules and production rates. With Infor M3 in the cloud, EJ benefits from all the flexibility and agility of a solution dedicated to industrial manufacturing and open to future developments. All of this ultimately contributes to optimizing their processes and increasing their market share and revenues.”

BioMar Teams Up with Columbus to Take Digital Leadership with Infor Cloud ERP

Infor today announced that BioMar, a leading sustainable aquaculture feed producer, has chosen Columbus as a strategic partner to implement its Infor M3 ERP system in the cloud as Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage. Aiming to standardize and streamline business processes globally with the latest digital technologies, the solution will empower over 550 users in 13 countries to work more efficiently with a future-proof digital platform by 2023.

With EUR 1.5 billion in turnover, sales in more than 80 countries and around-the-clock operations in every major time zone, the Denmark-based BioMar Group’s business is typical of a large multinational, which presents challenges in harmonizing processes.

“BioMar and Infor held a series of design-thinking sessions to obtain a common understanding of BioMar’s future strategies and goals,” says Johan Made, Infor’s executive VP for northern and eastern Europe. “Based on that understanding, a number of digital capabilities were identified, which were later used to form a digital roadmap going forward. The implementation of Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage is the foundation and a major step in BioMar’s journey into the digital future.”

Operating in an aquaculture feed industry with many digital opportunities and challenges, the group’s digital roadmap and business goals through 2023 require more streamlined business processes and a more data-driven approach to decision-making.

BioMar has been using the Infor M3 ERP since 2013 but the company felt it was not getting the full benefit of the powerful ERP system as business processes were not well aligned across the multinational group of companies. BioMar’s CIO and global IT director Thomas Mortensen shares the plan for addressing this: “The case for this project is only 20% about technology and 80% about business. With strong management support and buy-in, we have adapted our governance structure by appointing group-wide leaders as business process owners in each business area to standardize and streamline processes. Combined with a future-proof digital platform built around Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, a corporate process template and strategic advice from Columbus, this will allow us to harmonize business processes across the group and drive major efficiency gains.”

Another challenge for BioMar is that its operations in each country have been focusing on solving country-specific challenges with individual modifications and customizations in Infor’s ERP system. Kent Enrico Petersen, executive director of international M3 business at Columbus, sheds light on how Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage makes complex modifications directly in the database and software a thing of the past: “Any additional functionality needed will be deployed as add-ons and tools. As a result, 90% of the ERP system will be standardized across the group and only 10% will differ for localizations. By enabling the harmonization of item numbers, bills of materials and other parameters, this will drive data-driven decision making with vastly improved data comparability and availability. BioMar is a strategically important customer to us, and we see great potential for adding substantial value with our shared vision for strategic digital initiatives.”

Looking ahead, BioMar aims to take digital leadership by continuously investing in cutting-edge technologies with the Infor CloudSuite platform as a basis to fulfil its ambitious all-cloud and all-mobile 2020–2023 digital strategy. With plans to accelerate sustainability initiatives and innovation in digital services for customers as well, Mortensen highlights what support is needed to succeed: “By 2023, we aim to be on the forefront of using digital tools both internally and externally. This will create new ongoing digital skills needs and we will be challenged to attract and retain top talent. We also need a strategic partner that is invested in our future success, shares our focus on deliverables and can help us make the right strategic decisions every step of the way. Given their experience as one of the top M3 consultant organizations and global presence in the food and beverage industry, it was only natural to team up with Columbus.”

Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage fosters sustainable growth

Infor today announced that Bio Partner Schweiz AG will implement Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage. The CloudSuite will replace an on-premises ERP system and is designed to support the company’s continued growth by bringing many food industry-specific features to standard deployment and consolidate internal processes. The implementation will be done by Infor alliance partner Maximum Solution Consulting Group GmbH (MSC) with its many years of experience in the food industry.

Learn more about Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage: https://www.infor.com/industries/food-beverage

Bio Partner Schweiz AG is the leading service provider and wholesaler for the Swiss organic specialist market. From its headquarters in Seon (Canton Aargau), the company serves 3,500 customers in the organic specialist trade and retail, and also in the catering and processing industries. The company has experienced strong growth in recent years in line with the trend towards organic and sustainable food — and accordingly the challenges facing the business have increased, particularly in terms of working with customers and additional value-added opportunities.

The previous ERP system was no longer able to keep pace with this development, precisely because it had been heavily modified over the years and supplemented by complementary isolated applications, so it had recently lost its ability to be updated. Bio Partner finally decided to replace the system and chose Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage. The suite is designed specifically to meet the needs of the food and beverage industry, providing a range of features to help streamline global supply chains and accelerate processes. Many last-mile functions typical of the industry are already integrated as standard.

“In order to be able to offer our customers efficient and high-quality services at prices in line with the market, we depend on powerful systems that are technologically state-of-the-art. This is crucial to ensure we can also meet future customer requirements,” says Thomas Steiner, member of Bio Partner Schweiz AG’s management board and head of its commercial & commodity trading. “Infor can provide us with a solution that maps many industry-standardized processes right out of the box and differentiates itself from the competition with its multi-tenant cloud platform. The Infor CloudSuite enables us to continue to grow our business in the future.”

“At the moment, Infor is the only provider to offer a fully integrated industry-specific solution for food and beverage in a multi-tenant cloud,” said Joerg Jung, Infor’s executive vice president & general manager for EMEA Central, South and Israel. “This not only keeps Bio Partner on the cutting edge of technology and allows them to focus on their core business, but our CloudSuite also makes it possible to develop new business models.”

Norsk Kylling to Develop World’s Best Chicken Production with Infor and Columbus

Infor today announced that Norsk Kylling has deployed Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage. Norsk Kylling aims to create the world’s best value chain for chicken production, where good animal welfare is at the forefront. Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage, with Columbus as partner and supplier, will help provide even better control, quality and efficiency through the value chain.

Learn more about Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage: https://www.infor.com/en-gb/products/cloudsuite-food-and-beverage

In the factory at Støren near Trondheim, Norsk Kylling produces tasty chicken products under the brand name Solvinge. Norsk Kylling also owns chicken incubator Hugaas Rugeri, since its acquisition in 2016, which means the company has the entire value chain, from hatchery egg production, up to hatchery, broiler raising and the completion of various prepared chicken dishes.

Norsk Kylling began producing chicken in 1991. In 2015, the grocery retailer Rema bought the manufacturer, and since then the business has been constantly developed, improved and adapted to new quality requirements, laws, regulations and sound production. With a new factory under construction at Orkdal, it became important to install a modern business system to support data capture and automation in the production facility and manage logistics, inventory, and maintenance processes.

“The ERP system now gives us tight control of data, materials and financials through our complex value chain. We have about 150 suppliers from three categories of farms that give us either eggs, hatching hens or broilers. The business system covers both hatchery and slaughterhouse, purchase and sale of eggs and chicken. Now we have full control over and can document the product from farm to fork,” says Norsk Kylling IT manager Torfinn Utne.

Control of tracking and documentation is the foundation for ensuring responsible production and good animal welfare. As Norsk Kylling itself says: “A chicken that is doing well tastes better.”

Previously, much of the information was collected and handled manually, which is time-consuming and can be a source of incorrect information. With more correct management information, Norsk Kylling has reduced waste, gained better control over inventory and can plan production better in relation to market needs, says Utne.

“We had control before, but now we get tighter control,” Utne says. ”We also now benefit from labour savings and a better reputation.”

The contract for Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage was won in tough competition from over 20 other suppliers of ERP systems, with Infor alliance partner Columbus chosen as the supplier. Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage was chosen over SAP in the final stages. It was important for Norsk Kylling to be completely confident that Infor CloudSuite Food & Beverage solution, which contains a number of preconfigured settings adapted to the food industry, covered the customer’s wishes, requirements and needs.

“Norsk Kylling has chosen a standardized, multi-tenant cloud solution without special adaptations,” says Per Christian Øen, Columbus’ business solution director for Infor CloudSuite.

Columbus’ Norwegian team has provided the solution. The team consists of Infor CloudSuite specialists with experience from many major food customers.

“The consultants from Columbus have had full control of integrations, and the project has been delivered according to schedule and budget,” says Utne.
