Elektrizace železnic Manufactures and Manages Projects with Infor

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, announced that Elektrizace železnic is upgrading its Infor M3 system to version 13.3. The new version of its ERP application, which is planned to go live at the beginning of 2017, will enable the company to support business processes more effectively, with a main focus on project manufacturing, and will provide more than 150 users with a better user interface and work experience.

Elektrizace železnic has been using the Infor M3 software for more than 10 years as its core ERP platform, primarily for production, assembly and project management in the areas of overhead contact lines and electro-technological units for transportation infrastructure. The company works in the mixed manufacturing mode of repetitive manufacturing (mechanical and electrical products) and project manufacturing.

With the latest version of Infor M3, the company expects to extend support for and integrate currently disparate business processes, reduce costs on compliance and seamlessly use new technology including mobile devices. Infor M3 13.3 will help provide stronger support especially for its project manufacturing processes, which are a critical part of its business, including integration with document management and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.

Elektrizace železnic also plans to use new capabilities in M3 13.3 to enhance the user experience and create more user friendly access through the Infor Mashup Designer tool to bring together the information that users need on one screen. Once the Infor M3 upgrade is completed, Elektrizace železnic plans to roll-out Infor M3 to its subsidiary companies.

“We expect the new version of Infor M3 will help us to better address current market requirements through more effective manufacturing process support and being able to more precisely meet project delivery terms,” said   Jan Sobotka, business manager in Elektrizace železnic. “Besides adopting new functionality and increasing the number of users, we also plan to use the Infor M3 solution at other Elektrizace železnic companies in the future.”

“Elektrizace železnic and other project manufacturers need to face the challenges of a mixed mode manufacturing environment and focus on their core business,” said Monika Vitásková, Channel Manager, Infor Czech. “This new version of Infor M3 provides even broader support both for repetitive and for project manufacturing, enabling Elektrizace to respond to the market situation and compliance requirements faster and more effectively.”
