French Dairy Brand La Laiterie de Montaigu Chooses Infor M3 to Gain Performance and Flexibility

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that La Laiterie de Montaigu, a French specialist in dairy products, has selected Infor M3, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, to enable greater flexibility and boost performance.

Following an ERP selection process comprising some of the biggest vendors in the enterprise software market, La Laiterie de Montaigu selected Infor M3 to support the development of the company, whilst integrating with third party applications, including desktop publishing solutions.

Founded in 1932, La Laiterie de Montaigu is an independent family business based in Vendée (West of France) that has established itself as a key player in the dairy products industry. With a strong traditional know-how, the company consistently invests in advanced, best-in-class technologies for its production facilities in order to deliver high quality products to its customers.

La Laiterie de Montaigu initiated the evaluation process for a dedicated ERP system in the beginning of 2015. The dairy leader selected Infor in early 2016 and the implementation is set to take place in two stages throughout 2017.

“Our business is constantly evolving. The development of new ranges of high value-added products, combined with the emergence of new markets for export, were key drivers for new software.  To support growth, we set out to acquire an IT solution capable of driving all our activities, particularly for our culinary and dehydrated powders ranges, while optimizing our supply chain, managing traceability, and better monitoring our business and organizational processes. Infor M3 will bring more visibility and cost control to our company,” says Christophe Morisseau, CFO of La Laiterie de Montaigu.

Infor M3 differentiates itself from other systems through its innovative user interface, a great deal of rich integrated applications, a series of dedicated business functionality, specifically for Food & Beverage industries, and, additionally, for its ability to easily manage mixed and complex environments. Infor M3 is a multilingual, multi-company and multi-site solution.

“Infor M3’s rich functionality, its ability to cover our numerous specific developments with standard processes, the involvement of Infor’s teams to support our staff during the integration of industry and company specific features, as well as the proximity of its partner LTTD Consulting, were all key to our selection of the application,” adds Christophe Morisseau.

Thanks to Infor M3 and its advanced scheduling and planning modules, La Laiterie de Montaigu expects to benefit from tools that will help the company better monitor its processes, and support its innovative approach to delivering excellent quality products.

Cianbro Drives Operational Value, Asset Visibility With Infor M3

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Cianbro Corporation has successfully implemented Infor M3 Equipment to enhance core operations throughout the organization. Cianbro is a self-performing, employee-owned, merit-shop construction company that is headquartered in Pittsfield, Maine. In an effort to modernize operational efficiencies and replace homegrown applications, Cianbro had undertaken a search for a forward-thinking software vendor that could provide an end-to-end process management platform. This search ultimately led decision-makers to engage Infor, and more specifically, Infor M3, an enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution that is designed to manage complex environments. The implementation, which was recently completed, is purposefully designed to heighten asset visibility, streamline warehouse management, reduce procedural complexities and lay the foundation for forward-thinking technologies that will create value-driven growth within the organization.

“As a construction company, our Team Members are focused on delivering a high level of service to our jobsites and clients.  To do this most efficiently, they need feature-rich technology that offers a holistic view of our equipment and business processes. With Infor M3 Equipment, we not only gain ease of use but are better able to manage the lifecycle of our equipment, tracking it from acquisition to rental and return,” said Russ Rodrigue, CIO, Cianbro. “Infor’s strategic roadmap of value-driven applications aligns with our long-term goals for displacing homegrown applications with forward-thinking disruptive technologies.”

With the implementation of Infor M3 Equipment, Cianbro is now able to automate processes and reduce complexities that impact everyday operations. Before utilizing Infor M3, many of these processes were based primarily on manual data entry, spreadsheets or paper-based tracking systems. For a company with over 16,000 assets constantly on the move, this was no longer a feasible operating model. Before upgrading to Infor M3, a task such as taking a new equipment rental order could involve multiple Team Members collecting significant information about a wide range of equipment, small tools, forms and consumables via email, spreadsheets or paper forms, which added to the complexity of an already fast-paced warehouse and maintenance facility. Using Infor M3, Cianbro is able to efficiently take equipment orders, determine equipment availability, establish picking and packing plans for shipping, manage 3rd party rentals and sales and reduce equipment downtime for required maintenance. Warehouse Mobility may provide the most immediate value by allowing Team Members to quickly track when equipment is returned or in need of repair or transfer to another facility or job site – a process that was once primarily paper driven is now automated, creating greater organization-wide visibility.

A major objective for Cianbro was aligning the organization with a technology vendor that could demonstrate core industry competencies, while still offering a growth-based value proposition. According to Rodrigue, one of the major draws of Infor as a solution partner is the ability to deliver industry-specific applications that touch upon each aspect of the business, thereby providing tools to improve performance, reduce costs, and access great asset information.

“Cianbro stands out as a strong industry-oriented example of how a strategic technology investment can fundamentally fortify key operational methods. For years, Cianbro had successfully functioned using time-intensive manual data entry and tracking. With Infor M3, they are able to automate many of these processes and reallocate resources to better serve their customer base,” said Andreas Hellström, senior director, Industry & Solution Strategy, Equipment, Infor. “Cianbro has expressed a very thoughtful approach for enhancing the company-wide technology portfolio for years to come, and we look forward to building upon our flourishing partnership.”

Infor to Accelerate Converged Commerce with Acquisition of Starmount

Leading In-store Checkout, Mobile Checkout, and Clienteling Software to Help Infor Realize Vision for Converged Commerce.

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced it has entered into an agreement to acquire Starmount, a modern store systems provider serving large and mid-market retailers. When the acquisition is complete, Starmount will provide point-of-sale, mobile shopping assistant, and store inventory management products along with a data-rich commerce hub to engage shoppers, streamline operations, and support consistent cross-channel customer interactions. The acquisition is expected to enable Infor to accelerate delivery of Infor CloudSuite Retail, a new, modern suite of enterprise applications delivered in the cloud and designed for today’s retailing landscape.

As retailers struggle to force outdated software to meet the new demands of the industry, Infor has been building CloudSuite Retail to address these issues by providing modern, cloud-based software services.  After forming its Infor Retail business unit during the summer of 2015, Infor announced a collaboration with Whole Foods Market to build a modern merchandising system, and subsequently the acquisitions of GT Nexus for supply chain network, Predictix for demand management, and now Starmount for store systems.

“The market is littered with antiquated software built 20 or 30 years ago that just can’t provide what modern retailers need,” said Wade Gerten, VP of Customer Experience & Digital at Infor.  “They want alternatives, built in the cloud, with native support for mobile.  This acquisition will help Infor bring such solutions to market faster.”

Infor is investing heavily in products that help retailers achieve converged commerce, the next step after omni-channel in which retailers use a single selling system for all consumer interactions.  Not only does converged commerce improve the customer experience with accurate and timely information across all touchpoints, but it’s also cheaper to operate, avoiding many of the costly integrations necessary with traditional omni-channel approaches.

“Since announcing our intention for Infor CloudSuite Retail last fall, our phones have been ringing off the hook with retailers hungry for the software to help them overcome the serious disruption the industry is facing,” said Corey Tollefson, SVP and GM of Infor Retail. “For Infor it is all about accelerating delivery of the solutions our customers crave, be that through building software as we are with Whole Foods Market, partnering with industry leaders, or buying leading-edge technology like Predictix and Starmount.”

Austin, TX.-based Starmount experienced 41 percent year-over-year growth in 2015 and counts among its customers Abercrombie & Fitch, Burlington Coat Factory, Perry Ellis, and Urban Outfitters. Terms of the deal, which is expected to close within 30 days, are not being disclosed.

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, announced that Elektrizace železnic is upgrading its Infor M3 system to version 13.3. The new version of its ERP application, which is planned to go live at the beginning of 2017, will enable the company to support business processes more effectively, with a main focus on project manufacturing, and will provide more than 150 users with a better user interface and work experience.

With the latest version of Infor M3, the company expects to extend support for and integrate currently disparate business processes, reduce costs on compliance and seamlessly use new technology including mobile devices. Infor M3 13.3 will help provide stronger support especially for its project manufacturing processes, which are a critical part of its business, including integration with document management and Product Data Management (PDM) systems.

Scott Bader Extends Relationship with Infor

Global Chemicals Manufacturer Improves Compliance and Productivity.

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Scott Bader, a global chemical company, who manufactures, sells and distributes a wide range of synthetic resins and polymers, has extended its investment in Infor with a deployment of the maintenance management capabilities of Infor M3 at the Scott Bader manufacturing site in the UK. The enterprise resource planning (ERP) application will help improve productivity by automating compliance processes and increasing the visibility of maintenance trends.

Building on the existing deployment, Scott Bader is set to use Infor technology to help reduce manual administration and paperwork for the preventative and breakdown maintenance undertaken. Scott Bader will also develop better data for the analysis of trends such as the types of breakdown suffered, and the equipment most prone to failure.

By improving the efficacy of the preventative maintenance program Scott Bader aims to reduce the inventory of spares held and better align spares re-ordering to the needs of the production department, reducing downtime.

Building on the existing improvements to productivity realized by Infor M3, the increased visibility will help improve traceability for compliance with regulatory demands and best practice.  It will also help enhance management decision-making as department leaders will have better access to details on any equipment downtime and can make decisions accordingly.

“As we expand our relationship with Infor, we look for continual, incremental improvement to our processes,” said Kathryn Mclean, IS manager, Scott Bader. “This deployment is simply about enabling us to do our maintenance better. It will automate more of our compliance processes and increase the alignment of maintenance operations and the business. That equates to greater productivity and better customer service.”

“Chemical manufacturers face ever-increasing compliance demands,” said Mike Edgett, director industry marketing, process manufacturing, Infor. “That means automation of processes around maintenance is a critical part of ensuring that they can continue to operate at maximum capacity.  This implementation shows how Infor M3 continues to offer value to Scott Bader as the relationship with Infor develops.”

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Preem, the largest fuel company in Sweden, has invested in Infor M3 to help modernize central parts of its system landscape. The investment further aims to standardize the information and process model, harmonize finance, and the interface between Preem’s two profit centers Supply & Refinery and Marketing & Sales. The solution will be deployed across the organization in Sweden for 600 users. The investment in Infor M3 is part of Preem’s change management program SVAR*.

Thus, balancing of supply and demand in the supply chain is a key business challenge that will be addressed with Infor M3 and Infor’s best of breed solutions within Supply Chain Planning.

Key News Points

  • Infor M3 will help provide Preem with full transparency of actual inventory levels across the entire supply chain.
  • Infor M3 will help support analysis across the supply chain all the way to the end customer’s.
  • Infor M3 will provide traceability of products down to the lowest level.

Preem will use Infor ION®, a flexible middleware platform, which allows the application to act as a single resource for reporting and analysis without the need to manually consolidate information. ION also manages business workflows and events from all included applications as well as a connection to Cloud and other external devices.

The implementation of Infor M3 as the core in Preem’s new business solution will be carried through in a joint program between Infor and Preem. The implementation is planned to take place in three major transitions to successively realize value and fast return on investment.

“We are honored that Preem has selected Infor as its partner for such an important business transformation project,” said Malte Ekedahl, Sales Director, Infor. “Preem was looking to reduce complexity and getting support for their supply chain and prepare for future strategic development toward new markets. Preem is one of the largest new customers for Infor in the Nordic region in recent years and we are proud that they have chosen Infor M3 as the new business solution across its organization.”

Bakers AS Standardizes on Infor

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Bakers AS, Norway’s largest bakery group and a subsidiary of Norway’s largest retail chain, NorgesGruppen ASA, has gone live on Infor M3 ERP. Delivered on time and on budget, Infor M3, alongside Infor Warehouse Mobility, is set to increase purchasing control, help reduce waste by cutting over-production; and help improve both productivity and the quality of financial data for analysis.

Following a thorough review of the market, with support from NorgesGruppen Data AS, Bakers chose Infor M3 on the basis of the industry specific functionality it offered, the established track record of Infor within the baking industry and the low total cost of ownership.

The hosted application has been implemented in two phases, covering first the core operational modules, followed by additional functionality. Extensive testing was carried out prior to going live and over 350 users are set to interact with the application across 12 sites.

Ole H Neergaard, IT director, Bakers AS said: “Throughout the selection and deployment of a new ERP system, the user experience has been a driving force.  We chose M3 not only because it suits our purpose but it was notably less bloated than some of the alternatives that we looked at, and enabled us to proceed with only a very few minor modifications, both of which mean less demands on the staff on the factory floor.  This is despite us adding modules for purchasing, inventory, production planning and production support.

This approach has enabled us to not only implement the application on time and on budget but also to get workers that had never worked with PCs, using technology on a daily basis. We are seeing constant improvements.”

Einar Broch, sales director, Norway, Infor said, “Our focus on micro-verticals and a strategy of no customizations has led to ERP software keenly aligned to the needs of industries with very specific requirements and dynamics, such as baking.  Businesses like Bakers work at a huge scale and this means that implementation must be just as aligned to the business as the software. This combination of leaner software and a focused implementation methodology is proven time and again to deliver results quicker.”
