Fetim Group Rises to Market Challenges with Infor

International Construction and Home Decoration Innovator Migrates Infor M3 to the Cloud.

Infor, a leading provider of beautiful business applications specialized by industry and built for the cloud, today announced that Fetim Group, a construction and home decoration leader, has successfully completed its Infor M3 Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) application migration to the cloud.  In addition, Fetim will use Infor ION® to help integrate a range of third-party, best of breed applications, combining apps deployed in the cloud, Hybrid-cloud and on premise.

The home decoration market has seen radical change in the past few years.  An increase in online shopping, supplier and price transparency, combined with significant consolidation of Europe-wide retailers, has dramatically changed the role of all ‘players’ in this channel of distribution. Where DIY-retailers were once Fetim’s a significant share of its customer base, today’s market includes these same retailers, their online platforms, next to globally fast rising pure-play internet retailers. In addition, the growing trend towards Do-It-For-Me vs Do-It-Yourself shows strong growth on the professional side of the market via contractors, developers, home builders, and trades men.

“Fetim is moving its applications to the cloud to help equip us with the agility to respond to these changes,” said Frans Beerkens, Director of the Fetim Group.

Fetim also took the decision to move to the cloud version of Infor M3 following a period of international acquisitions that resulted in large fluctuations in the number of users and IT resources required. As a growing company both in manufacturing and distribution, Fetim wants to rationalize its IT investments in OpEx vs CapEx.

As an existing Infor M3 customer, Fetim has been able to influence the functionality included in newer versions of M3 and will deploy the cloud version of Infor M3, with no customizations. This will help Fetim to keep up with its fast changing market and global customer base. Integration with other applications such as a third party warehouse management system will be handled by Infor ION.

In addition, Fetim’s move to cloud will support a move from desktop to mobile infrastructure, and to better handle the growing need for data security. Fetim has chosen to outsource the management of this risk to specialists including Infor and its cloud partner, Amazon Web Services (AWS), going forward.
